Check Fire Department connections

with the goal of ensuring they

are not filled with water and that

automatic drip valves are working

properly. Check water temperature of the

fire water storage tank and confirm

the heating system is operating

properly. [If applicable].

 

 

Determine if heat tracing on any

sprinkler system piping is intact

and operating properly.

Visually inspect the integrity of any

pipe insulation. [If applicable].

Visually inspect any wet pipes

in attic areas to determine if

previously installed insulation is in

place, or if the insulation has been

disturbed. Check fire pump rooms for

adequate heat. Check fire pump

test header for proper drainage

 

Check any private fire hydrants for

automatic drainage.

 

Provide recommendations for

corrective action.

 

Discuss any further actions the

customer needs to take in order to

reduce the chances of a sprinkler

system freezing-up.
